Take this as my first blog post here! I hope to use this space first and foremost as a way to display my work in a unique way. Ultimately, I am here because to me, it’s never really just been about the photos and the beautiful gallery display you get to your inbox. It’s about the community and relationships I get the incredible privilege of making and building along the way.
Soooooo, here I am having my own spin on a photo blog. All of this is new to me here in regards to sharing through a photo gallery blog, but what I really desire is to blog again and share words on my heart as well as what I am learning and how I am growing in this space. To speak on community:
I feel that covid really stole a lot of that from us. It left us feeling in an isolated space. For a while it was all jokes and enjoying alone time,… until it wasn’t. After a while we began to crave for more; to get back to spending time with many of us in close proximity in one room; of friends gathering in laughter and to have a hug or simple touch from another. And the more it went on, the longing for more just didn’t subside deep enough. It got me reading more and thinking more about the deep desire, crave, and need for people. We need people. We need relationship and we thrive as people when we have connection and the space to share it with others. I don’t think it’s coincidence when we meet people that we can instantly have those connections with. In turn, we gain friendship, accountability, and trust. I want to make sure we never lose sight of the deep relationship we were built for. The vulnerable, messy, personal stuff. The raw and authentic stuff. The REAL stuff. Something that I think we can all appreciate a little bit more now.
As I started my photography business 2 years ago, my ultimate desire was to cultivate again the relationships that we truly are built for. The community that we were built for. The deep connection love that we were built for. The quality and drive we were built for. I pray as you continue to enter here, that you feel just that through my heart and words across this website and through the interactions and expressions you see here. It’s not just about the candid moments, but the deep connection between them.
”So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” – Psalm 90:12
Here I’m sharing Nate and Jenna’s rainy day engagement. This thought so flawlessly came with meeting them because from the moment Jenna reached out to me about shooting their wedding, I knew instantly that we were going to be great friends. It was instant connection for friendship! She and Nate are so down to earth and every moment with them is the most fun! I cannot wait for their wedding in September.
